Brawley Fire Department
The Brawley Fire Department was established 104 years ago.
The department is responsible for the protection of life and property of the citizens of Brawley as well as the life and property of all the citizens that need assistances while passing through the city and within its sphere of influence.
At present we are waiting for the delivery of a 2006 fire apparatus. This will give us three good apparatuses, a 1996, 2002 and a new 2006. This will allow us to continue with our present plans of finding a way to build a second fire house and maybe re-locate the present one towards the west end of the city. We are working on implementing a code enforcement program and the possibility of starting to hire more staff and bring our staffing level up to standards.
The growth of the city will determine how we can continue with our plans to be able to provide the service the citizens should have and much deserve.

Fire Chief
Frank Contreras
Frank Contreras is a native of the city. Chief Contreras has thirty-one years of firefighting experience and the last fourteen years as the Fire Chief. He has an educational background from the local community college with two degrees, one being Fire Science and a second in Business Supervision plus numerous hours in training in all parts of management and firefighting.
